Composition of the School Board

In the course of the amendment of the law that defines the rules for schools in Lower Saxony (NSchG of 12 Nov. 2010) together with the application of ProReKo (project of schools as regional competence centres) the composition of the boards of vocational schools had to be rearranged.

According to the law (§38b NSchG) the number of school board members depends on the number of teaching staff. As the bbs1celle employ more than 50 teachers, the school board has to consist of 24 members, of which three twelfth are members of the school management,

• three twelfth are teachers or further school staff (§ 53 Abs. 1 Satz 1 NSchG),
• three twelfth are students,
• one twelfth are parents or legal guardians,
• two twelfth are representatives from extra-school facilities like companies, among them one representative of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (§71 BBiG).

 The school Board holds regular meetings.
